The great poet Maharshi Valmiki, author of the great work of fiction, Ramayana was said to be a Bhill (Translated as a highway robber, by who, god alone will know). I was amused to read that the Punjab and Haryana High Court in a judgement delivered in 2010 ruled that Valmiki was not a Bhill.
