Note the Hindu Gods on the flags.

Here are the verses from Shri Guru Granth Sahib, which tells about Hindu Gods.... hanavanth jaagai dhhar lankoor || Hanuman with his tail is awake and aware. sankar jaagai charan saev || Shiva is awake, serving at the Lord's Feet. kal jaagae naamaa jaidhaev ||2|| Naam Dayv and Jai Dayv are awake in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. jaagath sovath bahu prakaar || There are many ways of being awake, and sleeping. guramukh jaagai soee saar || To be awake as Gurmukh is the most excellent way. Ripang taapanoo jaapanoo sarab logad|| O the giver of suffering to the enemies, all the people worship Thee. Thape khaapanoo thaapanoo sarab sogad|| Thou art the creator of all interests and also their destroyer. Namo lankudesoo namo sakat(i) paanoo|| Thou art the power of Hanuman; Namo Kaalkaa khadag paanoo kridaanoo||24||243|| Thou art Kalika and manifestation of the sword and wielder of the power in Thy own hands ! I salute thee. guramukh naadhan guramukh vaedhan guramukh rehiaa samaaee || The Guru's Word is the Sound-current of the Naad; the Guru's Word is the Wisdom of the Vedas; the Guru's Word is all-pervading. gur eesar gur gorakh baramaa gur paarabathee maaee || The Guru is Shiva, the Guru is Vishnu and Brahma; the Guru is Paarvati and Lakhshmi. ~Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji ang 2 --------------------------------------------------------------------

At the time of the Gurus, most North Indian families would remain "Hindu" while the eldest son was a "Sikh."Hindus enlisting their eldest sons in the Khalsa was done for protection against the Mughals.Hemkhund Sahib is a high-altitude lake ...in the Indian State of Uttarakhand is regarded as a pilgrimage site by the adherents of Hindus. When a Sikh & Hindu dies, cremation is the preferred method for both.Sikhs may also do the 'immersion of corpse remains' in a river after cremation, as Hindus do, although this is not a requirement; ashes may be deposited anywhere sentimental. Most Sikh surnames like Singh,Kaur comes from Rajput clan ....Guru Teg Bahadur sacrificed his life for KP ( Kashmiri Pandits).KP's are still there because of Sikh Guru Teg Bahadur.Recently a KRITAGAYTA (Gratitude) yatra was conducted by Kashmiri Pandits to express their gratitude for Sikhs as a community and the Gurus....U would find a multimillion similarities between Sikhism & Hinduism !

Yes, you're right, however, I want to point out that those flags (in the painting) have Kartikeya on them and I have seen the original flags of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, which have Kartikeya on them, so this painting is of a group of Sikhs in Maharaja Ranjit Singh's army.

Wow! I never knew that raNajIta siMh fought under kArtikeya's flag!
