Was there a few days back with a party of European tourists as guide on a lecture-cum-visit tour--nothing can beat an on-site visit--however many books one reads.and the plentiful rains this year which filled all the lakes made it a visual treat

Thank you Subbiah for posting this important book. I was looking for it. The delicate stone work on the thin marble screens around the tomb (in front) is the finest seen anywhere in the world. It contains the most intricate geometric and floral designs in it. Hazrat Saleem Chishti blessed many important persons at birth including Prince Saleem (afterwards Emperor Jahangir) and our friend Digijay Singh Kushwaha. We have to wait and see what Digvijay would be some day! My best wishes are with him.

Many thanks Asad uncle for your kind words. I am hopeful that he will be my wasila on the day of Mahshar and lead me to Qausar for an audience with Ameen ul Momineen !

All I can say, Digvijay, that may you have unlimited fun with the hoors in 'Jannat' (paradise) some day. With the sins I have piled up in my lifetime, I don't stand a chance. Moreover, the hoors must be very old and useless by now.

I am least interested in the hoors uncle. My Sufi path pokes fun at the ones who promise innocent folk houris in paradise: دل میں ہے خواہش-ا-حور-و-جنّت اور ظاہر میں شوق-ا-عبادت بس ہمیں شیخ جی آپ جیسے الله والو سے الله بچے

مست نظرو سے الله بچھے ماہ-جمالو سے الله بچے ہر بلا سر پے آ جائے لیکن حسن والو سے الله بچے

The last one seems to be a Qawwali. Is it?

Both are part of a Qawwali only immortalised by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. There are few couplets which are however frequently quoted....the first one is one of them. In Naat and Manqabat Nusrat was benazeer.
