Digital Book :
Saundarya Lahari
The Ocean of Beauty of Sri Sankara Bhagatvatpada
English translation by Pandit S.Subrahmanya Sastri and T.R.Srinivasa Ayyangar
Published by The Theosophical Publishing House, Madras - 1937

The Soundarya Lahari meaning "Waves Of Beauty" is a famous literary work in Sanskrit written by Adi Shankara. Its hundred and three shlokas (verses) eulogize the beauty, grace and munificence of Goddess Parvati / Dakshayani, consort of Shiva.
The Soundarya Lahari is not only a poem. It is a tantra textbook, giving instructions on puja and offerings, many yantras, almost one to each shloka; describes tantric ways of performing devotion connected to each specific shloka; and details the results ensuing therefrom. There are many interpretations and commentaries but best of these are arguably those that provide word-to-word translations, as also the yantras, the devotion to be performed and the results of the devotion.

This shloka is just awesome to recite. Something that moves me immensely. The other is of course, Lalitha Sahasranamam. Just completed the first 50 pages of this text. Very well written. Amongst the best I have come across.

Simply expounded , it removes the misconceptions of Kundalini and tantra-vidya. RBSI this is true transparency if people just cared to find pathways themselves.

This is a good work on Saundarya Lahari. The Mysore University has published a Kannada work by Narayana Sastry. With each Sloka, the author mentions the manner the worship should be conducted with special preparations of 'Prasadam'. For those religious, this is a good work.

Fabulous

A reading of this book spiritually elevates a person. Hidden meaning of some 'Namas' of the "Lalitha Sahasra Nama' are very well explained. A reading of both at a stretch can give an insight into 'Yoga' (not to be mistaken for Yogasana) and lead a seeker further in the spiritual path.
