What a fabulous shot...lighting certainly sets a mood, doesn't it?

This book could be useful as an English Language based reference work on Sanskrit Dramatics. One exemplary Drama viz., MricChkaTI (mR^icChkatikam) The Toy Cart by shUdraka is an all time favorite of the occidentals perhaps due t the presence of a background theme of a revolution and an uprising of the people against an inefficient and wasteful ruler, as he main story of Charudatta Vasantasena's love affair proceeds in the foreground. One needs to have the Sanskrit Original to appreciate the fidelity of translation.

Since I have read the Natyashastra ( in translation) and the beginnings of this book seem to me to be exactly from there i will read it to see how it compares and what are the other sources. Or is it a direct translation of the Natyashastra. Will have to read in detail.
