When did Asoka embrace Jainism? We have learnt that Asoka was converted to Buddhism by one Upagupta Acharya after the infamous Kalinga War and after that he did a lot of missionary work for Buddhism. To my knowledge the Maurya King who embraced Jainism after living lifelong under the tutelage of Acharya Chanakya and perhaps following Vedic Religion and then embraced Jainism at the end of his life and his memorial is supposed to be there in Karnataka...
