Calcutta - 1851.

A hand-coloured print from the Fiebig Collection: Views of Calcutta and Surrounding Districts, taken by Frederick Fiebig in 1851. This is a view from the rooftops, over Calcutta, with European mansions in the foreground. The Ochterlony Monument, in honour of Sir David Ochterlony, who was considered the victor of the Anglo-Nepalese War of 1814-1816, is visible in the distance on the skyline. The Monument, erected in 1828 and paid for by public subscription, is 152 ft high and is now known as the Shahid Minar.

Amazing photo

From the sunight angles, it seems, this may be a building on Theatre Rd or Park St, looking to north-west.
