About Author :
Dr. Upendra Thakur worked as Professor and Head of the Department of Ancient Indian and Asian Studies (1964-1990), and Department of Buddhist Studies (1984-1990), Magadh University Bodhgaya and as Director, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (Nalanda Pali Institute), Nalanda (1988-90), Bihar. He retired in the year 1990 after having worked for more than thirty-six years in different institutes and universities such as Mithila Research Institute of Sanskrit Studies, Darbhanga, Gorakhpur University, Patna University etc. He is presently working as ICHR Senior Fellow (New Delhi) in the Bihar Research Society, Patna.
