my favorite museum -- where the finest collection of looted artifacts are housed. i used to marvel at the buddha heads displayed there. then i went to cambodia and saw many headless buddha statues.

Cambodia, Kompong Thom Sambor Prei Kuk N7, Pre Rup style, late 10th century, sandstone. Musée Guimet, Paris. This statue was found at Sambor Prei Kuk by the ex-colonial French Governor Adhemard Leclere around 1860. The statue was transported to Paris, France and is now housed at the Guimet Museum.

You may laugh, but I think I have seen a seated horse-headed statue outside the Temple of Luxor in Egypt. In a book once.
