This decorative coverlet (rumal) made of cotton embroidered with silk depicts Krishna and his marriage to Rukmini. Krishna is shown at the top of the scene whilst Rukmini is being led into the wedding marquee 'mandapa' in the centre. The general composition represents a wedding celebration, containing processions of women playing instruments, various deities, animals and birds.
