Thank you sso much...!
that's a terribly photoshopped image u got!!
Siddhartha Singh: Now that you are saying it...I completely agree with you. Posted in a hurry...too late to regret now! But its actually embarrassing!
(In a lighter vein) Here, Einstein (over a curious non-smoking pipe) and Meghnad Saha (photoshopped or not) are analyzing, "Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love." -:) Indeed, gravity has still not been fully explained, and also Einstein dreamt of a 'unified field theory' (i.e. all the forces of nature in terms of a single field). Confirmation of Higgs-boson particle yesterday would be a small step forward. My knowledge is limited to this wiki essay, some info under Current Status (though it stands outdated today) here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Unified_Theory I remember our Physics teacher Mr. Mukherjee, who enthused us sufficiently to dream about god-particles, but very limited nos. of classmates took fundamental physics as part of their higher studies.
Thanks for sharing.
Is the search for the long sought Higgs boson particle, the most elusive so far for the particle physicists, finally over? “As a layman, I would now say, I think we have it,” said CERN director-general Rolf-Dieter Heuer. “It’s a historic milestone today. I think we can all be proud, all be happy.” Read more: http://blogs.outlookindia.com/default.aspx?ddm=10&pid=2805&eid=31
This image appears photoshopped, Bose's head from this photo inserted, reversed and placed over Minkowski's head. Do you have an explanation for that? http://www.calcuttaweb.com/people/snbose.shtml
Karen Snow Drake: This goof-up was pointed out in the earlier comments...and I have expressed my regret for posting such a terrible picture in a hurry. Cannot change it now.
A brilliant introduction by PC Mahalanobis ! That was indeed a gem/
