1911 Delhi Durbar Chandoa for Shamiana-A

Scale drawing in pen and black ink with gold paint and red watercolour wash of the Chandoa, the hanging interior of the canopy roof of the Royal Shamiana A, one of two such Chandoa designs in this collection. The Royal Shamiana was part of the Durbar complex at Delhi in 1911. The drawing shows a large square piece of red textile, enhanced by gold arabesque designs in the centre and on the edging. A scale for the drawing is at the top of the page, underneath the inscription.
