Interior of the Golden Temple, Amritsar by William Carpenter, watercolour on paper, India, 1854.

This image shows the richly decorated interior of the Golden Temple. Worshippers are gathered around the Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred book of the Sikhs which, rests on a red cushion. Through his use of colour, light and shade, Carpenter manages to evoke a sense of the spiritual nature of the ceremony.

...was there during Sikh New year 2007..

whats PostCron?

The interiors of the Golden Temple - all the levels and the terrace - are all simply amazing. Must see.

Sita Shahane : PostCron is an FB app...which helps us schedule our posts much in advance instead of going online ever so frequently to post our books and prints.

but if you want to see...dont go during the New Year celebration...miles of queues and absolutely jam packed with worshippers.Very difficult to see much...Still a super place.

What a great holy place is in my walking distance but alas Iam stucked in politics.
