too gud

I was here, the painting is beautiful, I wish they keep it clean and nice like here.

Simply love this place.

Yes, the place is quite unclean and untidy, swarming with beggars. It is embarrassing to visit the shrine but I cannot figure out how to clean it up without any authority. 'The Saints always associated with the common people and spurned the Kings' - this is the common excuse given. This is true too.

^^^ Asad Ahmed, the above is the monument to Salim Chisti at Fatehpur Sikiri, it being with ASI, as a part of the Fathepur Sikiri complex, is completely clean -- almost clinically sanitized even -- I believe you are confusing the one at Nizamuddin with the above?

You are right. This is Hazrat Saleem Chishti's tomb at Fatehpur Sikri. My comments above relate to the maintenance of the Nizamuddin complex in Delhi. Thank you for pointing out this oversight on my part.

There is a difference in the management of the two 'dargahs'. There is an admission fee (charged by the ASI) for entering the shrine at Fatehpur Sikri, while admission is free for the shrine in Delhi. This could explain the problem. Nonetheless, something needs to be done to clean up the shrine in Delhi. One possibility is that the locals could be issued free passes, but the visitors may have to pay an admission fee for maintenance.
