A curious and fascinating little book of colored pictures ( a rarity then! ) with observations...reflecting the anglo-centric views towards Indians at the turn of the century.
Fred Fawcett's'Nambutiris-notes on some people of Malabar',Anthropology Bulletin Vol III No 1, 1900 includes Jews of Cochin among inhabitants of Malabar while providing measurements of physical features of each community/caste/race viz height, span, chest,hips,left foot legnth,cephalic&nasal height,width..etc.just the way Amitav Ghosh describes in his debut book 'Circle of Reason'
the above book was republished by Asian Educational Services in 2001 and it contains some fascinating pictures and several misleading and unverified 'hearsay' about Nambutiris,Zamorins and other communities of Kerala circa 1900.
