Digital Rare Book :
Unknown Life of Jesus Christ
By Nicolas Notovitch
Published by Indo-American Book Co., New York - 1916

Notovitch claimed that, at the lamasery or monastery of Hemis, he learned of the "Life of Saint Issa, Best of the Sons of Men." His story, with the text of the "Life," was published in French in 1894 as La vie inconnue de Jesus Christ. It was translated into English[9], German, Spanish, and Italian.

This is the famous book which gave credibility to the many theories regarding the lost years of Christ. But the Wikipedia article gives an overview of the controversies surrounding Notovich's claim :

Is this Apollonius of Tyana?

Eric Ian Unverzagt : Thanks for the interesting clue ! Apollonius of Tyana (Greek: Ἀπολλώνιος ὁ Τυανεύς; ca. 15?–ca. 100? CE[2]) was a Greek Neopythagorean philosopher from the town of Tyana in the Roman province of Cappadocia in Asia Minor. Little is certainly known about him. Being a 1st-century orator and philosopher around the time of Christ, he was compared to Jesus of Nazareth by Christians in the 4th century[3] and by various popular writers in modern times. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollonius_of_Tyana

Apollonius of Tyana A Neo-Pythagorean philosopher of Greece who had a great reputation for magical powers. The Life of Apollonius of Tyana, written by Philostratus at the urging of Julia, mother of the Emperor Severus, is the only extant source of information concerning the sage, although other biographies, now lost, are known to have existed. Born at Tyana in Asia Minor, Apollonius was contemporary with Christ. He was educated at Tarsus and at the Temple of Aesculapius in Aegae. At the temple he became an adherent of the sect of Pythagoras, to whose strict discipline he submitted himself throughout his life. The Unknown Life of Jesus Nicolas Notovitch, author J. H. Connelly and L. Landsberg, translators http://www.thefreelibrary.com/The+Unknown+Life+of+Jesus.-a0128785271

This is one of the early books which fills the gap in the life of Jesus Christ. There is a gap of some 18 years in Jesus' life. This dark part is tried to be linked with Jesus' coming to India and taking to Buddhism in Kashmir valley. A religious place is associated with his last days and his burial in Srinagar. However, this is an interesting book which tries to validate that theory citing the ancient Tibetan works, which are believed to have recorded these unknown period in the life of Jesus.

I bought this book about twenty years back. Initially I was a bit skeptical but now I am now saying that Jesus not only came to India, he was the same as Amyntas of Galatia (Amen) and Amyntas Nikator who actually ruled India after his 'crucifixion' in 26/25 B.C.
