The tomb of Lord Cornwallis is located at Ghazipur, a small town in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh approximately seventy kilometers east of Varanasi. It is well connected by road and railways with different parts of the country. http://gaz.jrshelby.com/cornwallisgrave.htm

who was this seeta ram and where did he live? can you tell me.

Amit Sinha : Not much is known about Seeta Ram other than what is mentioned above... "'Views by Seeta Ram from Patna to Benares Vol. II' produced for Lord Moira, afterwards the Marquess of Hastings, by Sita Ram between 1814-15. Marquess of Hastings, the Governor-General of Bengal and the Commander-in-Chief (r. 1813-23), was accompanied by artist Sita Ram (flourished c.1810-22) to illustrate his journey from Calcutta to Delhi between 1814-15." In fact his magnificent paintings were randomly discovered in a box as recently as early 1970s !! There are no written records abouth this man and the many other Indian painters. We only have their work with us.

my ancestor seeta ram was a legal counsel for the english and got a jagir in moradabad and he was from gaya and travelled the same route

But then...this particular Seeta Ram was an artist and a draughtsman during 1810-1820. Does your family history speak of your ancestor as an artist and also would he have lived around that period? Surely the family would be aware of his legendary talent of having painted almost 230 paintings in short span 3-5 years.

seeta ram my ancestor was from amarut in gaya district and he did not have any surviving children so he adopted his nephew and we are descendants; no we do not have any knowledge of his painting talents. they were revenue lawyers and i have books printed in 1845 46 that are in urdu and english, printed at sikandra near agra

@ Amit sb. what is the subject of these books, do you have books in Persian too.....would love to see and know about these books.....
