SOUTH INDIA, CHOLA PERIOD, LAST QUARTER OF THE 10TH CENTURY

South India, Chola Period, Last Quarter of the 10th Century
Sensitively cast and superbly modeled with his principal hands poised as if to hold a lute, his uppermost hands holding the axe and antelope, with slightly bent left leg in a graceful pose, wearing a short ardhoraka secured with a sash, his face with a gentle smile flanked by long pendulous lobes adorned with a circular and makara earring respectively, his matted hair centered by a moon and sun disk and including a small figure of Ganga.
24 in. (61 cm.) high

This is volume II, which suggests there is a Volume I ! Tried to look for Bhudevi without success, the net being too sow.
