The book is an Authentic Account of the Campaign of Panipat in the Non Fiction format. It has 287 plus 32 preliminary pages and eight art pages with twenty colour photographs, including five colour photographs from the British Library London. The cover is a print of an original 18th century painting taken from the Raja Kelkar Museum. The book has an Index, Glossary, Bibliography, References, Appendices, Notes to Illustrations, Introduction to Principal Characters, Timeline, Genealogies, Foreword and 26 maps through the book explaining the text in lucid detail.

Uday S. Kulkarni is a Surgeon by training and practises his art in Pune, India. In 2009, Uday S. Kulkarni began research on the Third battle of Panipat, an event of national importance. In October 2010, he visited Delhi, Panipat, Gauripur, Kunjpura, Shukratal, Najibabad and Pathar garh; where the events of 1759-61 took place. He then began writing this book, which he completed in January 2011, around the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the battle.
