Begum Samru of Sardhana (Meerut) had brokered peace between the Sikhs and the Mughals when the Sikhs had come close to attacking the court of of Shah Alam. In gratitude he bestowed teh title of Zeb-u-Nisa on her.

This is awful, but I cant hear the words "Shah Alam" without getting the Pavlovian response of the childhood ditty, "The great Shah Alam, who ruled from Delhi to Palam"
