Contrary to what zealots believe (that history is about struggle between faiths and we are dutybound to carry on that fight till my faith wins over the other) the present stage of societal development is achieved more through cooperation than strife.
What is culture but the achievements of the institutions through which societal intercourse is conducted? The intercourse happens as we go about conducting myriads of activities all of which get "corporatised" in some form or other. The word "corporatised" means "organised by many people who come together to conduct business by laying down rules, rights and obligations".
Prof R.C. Mazumdar tells us how this was dome in ancient India. His narrative establishes "beyond doubt that religion did not engross the whole or even an undue portion of the public attention and that the corporate activity manifested in this connection was by no means an isolated factor but merely one aspect of that spirit which pervaded all other spheres of action." He takes us through the forms corporate intercourse in social, political and economic life. As expected, forms of corporate life in the political sphere takes the maximum space.
