scary thing is that many things were originated, welcomed adopted accepted as trends but later due 2 its harmful & disastrous effect abandoned, we still have retained the tendency 2 learn about things only when the harming effect struck us, point is 2 learn in advance & retain a safe & healthy life style always.

I always used to wonder in whose mind this demonic idea of making opium in India and forcing it on the Chinese first took shape...

As I understand, both Opium, its growth, uses and trade existed much before the British took it over. What the British did was to industrialize the production through force and aggressively push it into China. Essentially, the grew a existing idea to unhealthy proportions.
