As his (Kashinath Trimbak Telang) other papers put out by RBSI (dating Bhartihari), the prefaces to these translations are valuable. Mr. K.T. Telang deals with the problem of historicity of Gita and its two other out of fashion (inconvenient) versions with passion and elan. One is more familiar with the mainline Gita (the Bagwadgita). Telang's preface highlights the bundle of contradictions contained therein which makes this translation very interesting.
