Well Maharani Chimnabai scandalised Queen Victoria when she turned around. She was wearing the Nav-vari sari (just as in the above picture) and the queen was aghast because the maharani appeared as though she was wearing trousers. Women in Victorian , Edwardian or even Geogian England Never wore pants.
