hahahaaa...it's very good travelogue as well.He was a real sportsman. He only hunted man eaters and did full justice to the game.In his later days took to shooting with the camera and vociferously took to wildlife conservation. Do you also have his Leopard of Rudraprayag..?
I have a copy of this! -- as well as The Temple Tiger And More Man-Eaters of Kumaon. Unfortunately, I've never gotten around to reading either of them.
This is an all-time favorite of mine. The champawat maneater, the pipalpani maneater, the bachelor of powalgarh are etched in my memory from my high school days (which is 30+ years ago).
My first Thriller Book....Amazing narration and descricptive.

This was one of my favorite books as a child. My uncle used to tell us stories from the book, narrating them with dramatic flair whenever we made him happy by doing some chores for him.
Absolutely fantastic books. The gripping narration and style were thrilling.

I have read all Marathi translations when I was 10. They all contain the thrill of the hunt and love of man and animal alike.
Simmiler and even more fascinating are the Kenneth Anderson's account in Nilgiri jungles! He is also a brilliant narrator of big game hunting, specially man-eating tigers.

A Jim Corbett omnibus was released a few years back. All his works condensed into one tome. Nice winter reading. A companion book is Great Indian Hunting Stories by Stephen Alter http://openlibrary.org/books/OL1828997M/Great_Indian_hunting_stories
