I would love to be and be seen in that role. There are so many daemons waiting to be exorcised. Besides, the gear is colorful, music and dance are bound to be good. I promise, I will not touch the subjects, just dance around them and chant.

Religion is mostly superstition, isn't it? Because, if you get enlightened, you stop believing in religion!

I am intrigued by the caption on the picture. Is it common for old books to refer to people of what is now Kerala as Malayans? Because that's all kinds of confusing.

Very interesting image, reminds me of Berney's ' cremaster cycle image.

@Maria Elizabeth Packman: Kerala is the modern political state. Malay refers to the Malay mountain range of the Western Ghats. So Malay, Malabar and Kerala are roughly the same descriptors of a people (malayali) from that region.

@Sanjeev Khandekar: Can you elaborate please?

I will write to you. The image of exorcist reminded me of Matthieu Barney' s cremaster cycle, it's mammoth film in five parts, and a performance .

i differ................coz it seems he is wearing costumes of traditional dance form "thaiyyam", which is still practised today
