beautiful...

What a beauty!

Unfortunately with concrete structures cropping up, Nilgiris (Ooty in particular) is losing its old- world charm, like many other places. The 'Todas' too have lost their old look and becoming difficult to be identified as they are switching over to practices like others.

Amita Roy seems to be a troove of highly interesting data.Does anyone have her contact details.Would be interested in pickiing her brains on and off.

one of the most beautiful of India's handicrafts/handloom art is slowly disappearing. The Toda Shawl !!

One of my great great uncles, Edwin Alwyne Moore is buried in the NIlgiris at Kotagiri

excellent

What a truly beautiful picture of the Nilgiris - blue hills that remain South India's most visited scenic region.

Is it that blue in the Nilgiris? Or is it just the camera.

Neither...this is the magic of Photoshop !
